Shatilov began gymnastics at age five and immigrated to Israel in 2002. He is a floor exercise specialist and placed first in the in 2008, third at the 2009 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships and the 2009 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, fifth at the 2007 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and seventh at the 2006 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He was the first Israeli to reach an apparatus final at the World Championships.
Shatilov represented Israel at the 2008 Summer Olympics. In the qualifying stage, he placed 8th on the floor apparatus, which was still the best ever achievement in artistic gymnastics for an Israeli gymnast.
Alexander "Alex" Shatilov, born March 22, 1987 in Uzbekistan, is an Israeli artistic gymnast.
